Torbogen Luzern
Projection Mapping

The monumental Torbogen Luzern is the first thing to be seen when arriving at the train station for the Lucerne Light Festival.

For the Light Festival Lucerne, I created a dual-sided projection mapping on the historic entrance of the former train station which is now a monument on the plaza. The piece transformed the arch into a symbolic gateway: the arrival side welcomed visitors with a dynamic showcase of the city’s iconic landmarks, while the departure side featured a perpetual, ethereal dissolve as a visual metaphor for farewell and transition.

Concept, 3D, Animation, Mapping.
The experience was developed in the name of Nachtlicht.

The gate used to be the entrance of Lucerne’s train station before it burned down in 1971.
